The Seafood Education and Marketing (SEM) office promotes nutritional
benefits of seafood while emphasizing safe handling, preparation,
and consumption. Its target audience includes wholesalers, retailers,
educators, consumers, and the media. The office also promotes awareness
of the Georgia seafood industry and encourages utilization of indigenous
species. In another role, the office provides information and training
programs fostering responsible water and land use management to
conserve water resources, decrease pollution, and reduce storm water
runoff.
