Directions:
From I-16: Exit onto Lynes Parkway
East (516) to Savannah (this becomes DeRenne Ave.). Continue on DeRenne
and turn right onto Truman Parkway heading South. Follow Truman to
Whitfield Avenue exit and turn left at ramp traffic light. Whitfield
will become Diamond Causeway. Cross the drawbridge over the Skidaway
River, go past Skidaway Island State Park (on your left), going
through two traffic lights. At the four-way stop, turn left onto McWhorter
Dr. Continue until you reach the Skidaway Marine Science Center. The
UGA Aquarium will be to your left. Parking is free. Handicapped spaces
are available in front of the building.

The UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island
Take a journey through the UGA Aquarium from off- shore to in-shore areas. Explore
exhibits displaying marine animals typical of the habitats found along the Georgia coast. Fifteen (soon to be sixteen) exhibit tanks
house live animals that represent numerous species of fish,
turtles, and invertebrates. The aquarium and the Nature Trail are ADA accessible.
The Aquarium is only able to accept cash or checks for general admission fees. |

(NOAA) Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary diorama
The aquarium and museum exhibit areas were completely renovated in the fall of 2007 with support from the (NOAA) Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary Program and the UGA Marine Extension Service. Some of the new exhibits are illustrated below. |

Don't miss the touch tank in the upper Museum area that features a variety of marine invertebrates.
Display cases on the upper level exhibit fossils of sharks, giant armadillos,
whales, mastodons, wooly mammoths dredged from the Skidaway River.
Native American artifacts dating back to the "Guale" era
of Georgia's prehistory are also on exhibit.

AQUARIUM SEASON PASSES
Season passes are now available to those who wish to visit the facility repeatedly throughout the year, and run from the date of purchase to the same date the following year. There are six different Aquarium Pass Plans to choose from: Student ($20), Individual ($25), Dual Senior ($30), Dual ($40), FMilitary Family up to 6 ($50) & Family up to 6 ($60).
